Located adjacent to a freeway in dowtown Los Angeles, this 20,000 sq. ft. nightclub/restaurant, with a capacity of 1,200, was designed from the ground up to appear to have been converted from an existing parking garage. The facility includes a 150 seat restaurant, 4 bars, dance floor and stage facilities fully equipped to meet the needs of contemporary musical performances. The poured-in-place concrete structure features classic mushroom capitol columns, bars whose design is derived from highway barriers, and balcony and stair rails patterned after highway guardrails. The primary entrance is defined by the emergence of massive concrete columns through the articulated concrete facade. Although located on a hill, with activities on several levels, the facility is fully handicapped accessible. A separate entrance is provided for the restaurant to allow full operation without opening the entire facility on a daily basis.
